Paint NIte Paintings

Here are two painting that I have created for Paint Nite. I will be teaching both of these in upcoming events and I am so excited! I feel like Bob Ross except my viewers are live and I can drink/eat while I'm at work!

Stars

Here is an interesting photo I was working on for my sister. With some editing I was able to make her original photos of these galaxies more clear and bright. Though I am not a photographer or a photo-editor, I thought this was just a neat thing to work on.

Proud Teaching Moment

I saw the rewarding side to teaching tonight as an older woman (mid-60s) hugged me at the end of the class. After 2 hours of being frustrated with herself and doubtful, I held the canvas 10 feet away from her, and I will never forget her reaction when she looked at it the first time with "fresh" eyes. She was so proud and happy with her painting that she grabbed her face and started crying. She kept saying "Did I really do that?" And "I've never done anything like this." It was such a priceless moment and I am proud to have been a part of it. Unfortunately I do not have a photo of her painting but here is my painting that was taught. Hers was not far off, maybe even better!!

Day 3 of portraits

Here is the progress on 2 paintings of my sister-in-laws great grandparents. I'm on about my 4th hour of painting. It's been a few years since I have used oil paints so I only paint a little at a time so I don't get sick from the smell.

Leif faces 15-18 months

Here are some photos from Leif over the summer. Probably about 15-18 months old in these. His facial expressions are so great! Not sure if I like the greyscale or the colored one better.
