One year anniversary

Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of a very perfect day.

We were so excited to be married that we both wore our rings for weeks before the wedding. Dakota and I proudly wear the wedding bands of his parents. Not only does it symbolize our marriage, but a reminder of the strong marriage that came for before us.

My engagement ring is made from both of the rings that our fathers gave our mothers. The setting from his mom, and the band from my mom. It is perfect in every way.

Opa's 80th Birthday decorations

I got to use my "creative" eye in a different way this past weekend! Here are the center pieces I helped create for an 80th birthday party in my parents' barn. It's amazing what you can do with some burlap and a hot glue gun! I was also able to use my fancy Ti5 camera and take some beautiful photos of my parents' barn and the party.

Stars

Here is an interesting photo I was working on for my sister. With some editing I was able to make her original photos of these galaxies more clear and bright. Though I am not a photographer or a photo-editor, I thought this was just a neat thing to work on.

Leif faces 15-18 months

Here are some photos from Leif over the summer. Probably about 15-18 months old in these. His facial expressions are so great! Not sure if I like the greyscale or the colored one better.

Baby Faces!

Today, I spent an afternoon photographing one cute little boy! A friend wanted to get some photos taken of a baby that she nanny's, as a gift for the parents. After a few hours I captured some great facial expressions. Here are some of my favorites. This also turned out to be a great way to show all of the expressions at this stage of his life at 6 months.

Photography & Rugby

Here is a photo I took of my brother as his Alumni Rugby Game. He is the one holding onto the ball. I was really pleased to get this picture. It's not "amazing" photography, but it is an example of a photo I would use as a reference photograph. Maybe, along the line I will do a piece that involves football or rugby, this would be an awesome start to capture a moment.

References?

When you are doing work for something and you need a reference, the easiest one to use is yourself. I thought it would be fun to show how I am using myself as a reference for my newest children's book this semester. It's a bit of a sneak peek but I think it will be ok :)
