Baby Shower Decoration

Here is the start of blocks I am putting together to help decorate for the baby shower. They are turning out to be really cute and hopefully a big hit and a very easy thing to put together.

Sketches

Here are some digital sketches I have done for my friend. She asked me to come up with some ideas for a painting to do for her of her and her father. She lost him a little over a year ago, so it is a very sentimental piece for her. Her passion is dancing, so she wanted a painting of her and her father dancing. Now we are working on what they both should be wearing, what angle we see them at, and things like that. I'm very excited to work on this. My favorite kind of art is when it is something that is really important to you, and I know that she will love this painting as if she made it herself. More pictures to follow as I make more progress.

Helping on the Farm

I love going to Caleb's farm and watching/ helping him work. Mostly watching. Once in a while I can hand him a tool, or hold something. Either way, it is fun to be a part of. Here is a picture I took without him knowing. I'm sure he wouldn't like this photo, but I think he looks good :)

Baby Fiona

Today at 4:03 pm, my baby niece, Fiona Sophie Weyant was born weighing 8lbs 10oz. You can see her proud older brother Toben already looking protective of her. My sister in law is doing great and my brother is so proud. Congrats to both of them!

Late

Before my blog turns into a baking blog I thought I should post some more art. This was my first tablet drawing experience from 2 years ago. I was told to illustrate the word "Late" and this is what I came up with. The overall drawing is a little awkward, but I think it works with the word perfectly.

Jellyfish Fabric Desigin

Here is a quick design I did with the theme "Jellyfish". With this one I am playing around with line and basic colors. It is a really odd theme to try to design a fabric to but I think I did alright.

Photography & Rugby

Here is a photo I took of my brother as his Alumni Rugby Game. He is the one holding onto the ball. I was really pleased to get this picture. It's not "amazing" photography, but it is an example of a photo I would use as a reference photograph. Maybe, along the line I will do a piece that involves football or rugby, this would be an awesome start to capture a moment.

My Valentines Gift

So I have always been one to make fun of the cheesiness of Valentines Day. This is the first year I can actually consider myself to have a "Valentine". I did not want to go mushy on him, so I thought if I really wanted to show that I care, I should bake something. It shows that I put time into it and it's yummy (hopefully). I did have to make it a little corny, so I found a heart shaped baking pan to make my cinnamon rolls in. This was the first time I made them. Next time, I will have to make more and put them all in the same pan so they are touching by the time they finish baking. Then again, I don't think my valentine will need that many cinnamon rolls all for himself. Let's hope he likes them!

To Eat, or Not to Eat?

This is an apple pie that I made. although it doesn't look very good, you can see it did not last long. Next time, I will work on a more presentable crust. But at least I have the most important part figured out... that it tastes good!

Gift Suggestions

So to match the invitation I have designed, I am also creating a "gift suggestion" sheet to mail along with the invitation. We aren't doing an online registry so this is what we came up with. It matches the invitation very well and I think it will come out great in the end.

Baby Shower Invitations

Here are some quick designs I'm working on for a baby shower. Once I hear back about which design she likes, I will make the changes (if there are any).

Bull Riding

Here is a photo of me attempting to ride a mechanical bull. It was definitely a rush trying to hold on. It was my first time and I think I was more nervous than anything. After doing some work with drawing cowboys and rodeos, it was nice to have a small similar experience. I can't even imagine what it would be like on a real bull. I definitely have a high respect for someone who is crazy enough to do that.
